Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Riverside Avenue and Railroad place at approximately 4:15 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, where there were reports of two men in the roadway who may require medical attention.

Upon arrival at the scene, paramedics and officers found Westport resident Duncan Forsyth, who was “extremely uncooperative,” police said, shouting profanities and interfering with the evaluation of the second person, leading EMS to ask an officer to assist them in transporting Forsyth to the hospital for treatment.

Police said that Forsyth continued to be uncooperative and threatened to shoot the accompanying officer and hospital staff in the room. Following his release from the hospital, he was transported to Westport Police Headquarters, where he was charged with second-degree threatening, breach of peace and interfering with a police officer.

Following arraignment, Forsyth was released on $500 bond. He is due back in Norwalk Justice Court on May 4 to answer the charges.
